How to return the car at the end of the lease contract
Make sure you inform your fleet manager in advance if you want to return your company car at the end of the lease contract.
Vehicle returns information
- The LeasePlan service provider will coordinate the pick-up date by telephone from the specified return date. A prior appointment cannot be arranged for logistical reasons.
- Please make sure that the vehicle interior and exterior are clean before it is handed over.
- The vehicle registration certificate (Fahrzeugschein/Zulassungsbescheinigung) Part 1 (ZB1) is essential for vehicle de-registration. If you have lost it, please inform us at the following number/e-mail address:

The following items must be returned with the car:
All vehicle keys, including any spare keys
All tyres (summer/winter) if included in the lease contract
Remote controls, including remote control for auxiliary heater
Partition net
Luggage compartment cover
Charging cable
Sat-nav CD/DVD/SD
Please place the up-to-date service booklet, operating manual and vehicle registration certificate part 1 in clear view on the passenger seat on the day before pick-up.
You are not permitted to remove radio or phone antennas.
Please do not store additional tyres (incl. rims) in the boot and, if necessary, on the folded back seat when returning the vehicle without proper packaging and padding.
When storing in the vehicle, please check that the wheelsets are properly secured in the interior or boot. Protect the interior lining and upholstery with packaging and cushion the tyres with cardboard if necessary to prevent damage to the seats or door trim, and thus avoid consequential costs.
Winter tyres with rims must be returned if they are included in the leasing contract.Permanently deactivate any private vehicle apps that you use before the vehicle’s return.
There should be enough fuel in the tank for at least 100 km.
Do not hand over your fuel cards to the forwarding agent. Deactivate the cards before the vehicle is returned by cutting them in half through the magnetic strip.
We accept no liability for private property left inside the vehicle. Please make sure you remove all personal items before it is picked up.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept subsequently sent missing parts for logistical reasons.

Your fleet manager can tell you when the vehicle leasecontract ends. Otherwise, if your employer has arranged a direct drivercommunication service with us, you can ask your LeasePlan customer accountmanager. If you would like a lease contract extension, contact your fleetmanager.
You or a person authorised by your fleet manager inspect thevehicle with the forwarding agent that picks the vehicle up. Then both personssign the vehicle return document and our forwarding agent takes the vehicle toa logistics centre where it is inspected by an independent appraiser.
Before the leased vehicle you have returned is sold it isvalued by an independent appraiser. The vehicle is assessed for fair wear &tear and other damage in accordance with the TÜV Nord Cert GmbH’s certifiedinternational Fair Wear & Tear standard.
