How do I arrange an end of lease vehicle to be returned for sale?
LeasePlan vehicles must be returned to a selected Turners branch at the end of their lease. If you wish to return the vehicle yourself, there are specific branch locations for returning vehicles, which can be found on our supplier finder. Alternatively, you can arrange a transporter by calling us on 0800 532 737.
What do I need to do to prepare a vehicle to be returned?
To avoid unwanted costs or penalties, please make sure the following are returned with your vehicle:
- Two sets of keys and key-less entry devices
- Jack, wheel brace, alloy wheel lock nut etc.
- Cargo blinds (if your vehicle has these)
- Tow bar tongue (if your vehicle has this)
- EV charging cable (if your vehicle has this)
- Service book, operating manuals and any other accessories that were delivered with the vehicle
Please also ensure you remove any personal items.
What happens with the vehicle when it is returned for sale?
At the end of the lease, your vehicle will be inspected by an independent third party. The purpose of the inspection is to assess all end of lease charges as per our fair wear and tear guidelines for cars, trucks and light commercial vehicles. Once completed it undergoes a process to prepare the vehicle to be made available for sale via the Turners network.
How are excess kilometres and ‘fair wear and tear’ assessed?
Our fair wear and tear guidelines for cars, trucks and light commercial vehicles provide assessment criteria for the exterior (e.g. vehicle body and paint grille and bumper, tyre wear and wheel rims, glazing and lights, mirrors and external fittings) as well as the interior of the vehicle.
The end mileage is noted on the End of Lease inspection along with a photo, this is then used to terminate your vehicle and produce the End of Lease Notification, which will advise any mileage variations and unfair wear and tear items if applicable.
