Arrow downDo I need a cable to charge at work?

If you have the facility and your work policies allow workplace charging, you will only need to use your own EV cable if the workplace charger is untethered (aka socketed). To know which cable to use, you need to know the charger and the EV connector types. For example, if your workplace charger has a type 2 connector and your EV is a Type 1, you will need a Type 2 to Type 1 cable to charge your car.

Check your workplace policies. Some workplace chargers are set up to only charge when the charging session is authenticated by an authorised RFID card or fob, similar to swiping a card to enter your office building or your gym.
