LeasePlan joins the Business for Sustainable Mobility platform

In the words of LeasePlan's CEO in Spain, Alberto Sáez, "LeasePlan is committed to playing a leadership role for environmental and social justice. We have driven an exponential shift in our industry around climate change and the transition to electric vehicles, which is why we are joining the Companies for Sustainable Mobility platform. We are doing so in the same vein as our June 2021 commitment as partners in the UN Global Compact to decisively address all the major ESG issues of our time.

The document aims to drive change by setting out and establishing the 10 principles on which any organisation's commitment to sustainable mobility should be based, to facilitate action and to help establish joint actions to achieve the goals set by Europe and to which we are committed as a nation.

LeasePlan is working towards a green and healthy future. That is why it has set itself the goal of having a zero-emission fleet by 2030. To achieve this, it bases its strategy on 4 steps:

  Educate: to expand the use of low-emission vehicles, LeasePlan shares information on the options available, their advantages and best practices in the sector.

  Make it easy: make the switch to electric mobility easier by offering competitive prices, full-service packages and home charging points.

  Lead by example by promoting low-emission vehicles for its employees and partnering with companies introducing sustainable transport initiatives.

By joining Companies for Sustainable Mobility, LeasePlan joins the more than 50 organisations that are already members of the platform and that are committed to sustainable growth from an economic, social, and environmental point of view.
