LeasePlan appoints Berno Kleinherenbrink as SVP Commercial

LeasePlan Corporation N.V. today announces the appointment of Berno Kleinherenbrink as Senior Vice President Commercial. Subject to the approval of the Dutch Financial Authority (AFM), Erik Henstra, will succeed him as Managing Director of LeasePlan Netherlands.


As announced earlier, LeasePlan has designed a new value creation model to unlock the full potential of the company. The implementation of a more integrated organisational structure is part of this process.

Berno Kleinherenbrink (1962) has been appointed to lead LeasePlan’s Commercial value stream, one of the components of the new value creation model. As SVP Commercial, he will oversee LeasePlan’s European activities targeted at the Corporate clients and the SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) and Private Lease segment.

Berno’s career at LeasePlan began in 1998 when he was appointed Commercial Director for LeasePlan Netherlands. He has held the position of Managing Director LeasePlan Netherlands since 2005. His previous functions include a number of management roles at Philips and Amoco Chemical. He holds a Bachelors degree from Nyenrode University and an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management.

Erik Henstra (1970) will succeed Berno as Managing Director LeasePlan Netherlands, subject to the approval of the Dutch Financial Authority. Erik joined LeasePlan in 1995 and he was appointed to his last role, Director Services & Operations at LeasePlan Netherlands, in 2009. He holds degrees from the IESE Business School, the VU in Amsterdam, the University of Groningen and Nyenrode University.
