Renault Megane IV Sport 1.5 dCi elected Car Fleet of the Year 2018
LeasePlan, the national leader in Operational Leaseing and mobility solutions, today presented at the Silk Club in Lisbon the winners of the 16th Edition of the Car Fleet of the Year, an initiative that was attended by representatives of LeasePlan Portugal, brand managers in competition and a panel of judges. The Car Fleet aims to distinguish the most outstanding cars for the fleet segment in 2017 in four categories: "Small Family", "Medium Family General", "Medium Family Premium" and, for the first time the "Electric Vehicle" segment.
In addition to being voted "Fleet Car of the Year 2018" - qualification obtained by being the car with the best overall rating of the 12 cars in competition - Renault Megane IV Sport 1.5 dCi Intens also won in the category "Small Family" , in which it competed with the Ford Focus Station 1.5 TDCI Titanium and Nissan Qashqai 1.5 dCi N-Connecta Business. Factors such as LeasePlan sales and the jury's evaluation of suitcase space, ease of driving and braking were decisive for this model to stand out.
The vehicles that stand out in this 16th edition of the Car Fleet, two hybrids and a 100% electric, confirm the change in the mobility paradigm we have been watching and that LeasePlan has been a pioneer in its commitment to lead the transition from internal combustion engines to alternative propulsion fleets, aiming at zero net emissions from its fleet by 2030. These three vehicles distinguished by professionals who manage their company's fleets are something very inspiring for other fleets and meets the main elements of our sustainability strategy.
In the "General Family Middle" category, the Passat Variant 1.4 TSI GTE Plug-in, which surpassed the competition, was awarded the first place: the Ford Mondeo Station 1.5 TDCi Business Plus ECOneti and the Renault Talisman Sport 1.5 dCi Zen Pack Business. The quality of the materials, the ease of driving and the gearbox were the key factors for this model to win.
In the "Middle Family Premium" category, the winner was the BMW 330e iPerformance Advantage 2.0, which stood out from the Audi A4 Avant 2.0 TDI and the Mercedes C-Class Station 220 d Avantgarde 2.1. The TCO, LeasePlan sales and CO2 emissions were decisive for the final choice.
Finally, in the category "Electric Vehicle", introduced for the first time in this 16th Edition of the Car Fleet of the Year, highlight the Nissan Leaf Tekna, whose evaluation surpassed the Volkswagen E-Golf and Renault Zoe Intens. The LeasePlan sales and vehicle autonomy were differentiating factors of this model.
