You are responsible for:

For our Head of In-Life Operations vacancy we are looking for a new colleague in our Global Commerce team. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising a team of Commercial Vehicle Fleet Operations professionals who will provide leadership to country teams, and will work closely with senior customer management to reimagine and transform the international and country level fleet operations to positively impact the customer’s last-mile delivery activities. You will be accountable for create, develop and implement market leading In-Life fleet management for a global key client that ensures global availability of a mission critical fleet covering (but not limited to) vehicle planned and reactive maintenance, off road and accident management, as well as identifying alternative solutions to improve the efficiency of operations.

You will facilitate the environment for the FO team to work with local country management teams in consultation with the central customer points of contact to review and improve customer specific operational processes that will deliver 95% fleet availability across a growing global fleet.

  • Responsible for operational performance on a global level for a highly strategic and complex program.
    • Central point of contact and escalation point to support customer requirement of 95% Fleet Availability;
    • Supervising local team members within the Ops team to meet client deliverables and drive operational excellence on a global scale.
       
  • Managing the availability of a fleet, in terms of maintenance, off road and accident management, as well as supporting to provide alternative solutions.
    • Coordination of local operational management activities following daily interactions with Armada Manager Fleet Operations and country Fleet Managers;
    • Successfully manage the relationship between client and LeasePlan from an operational performance perspective (global fleet performance).
       
  • Managing customer requirements to be translated into digital solutions, driving proactive fleet management operations.
    • Ensure high quality of customer data input, lead central analysis to support the business activities and decision-making processes for the Armada program globally;
    • Cooperate with different disciplines (local and central) across the LP organisation to harmonize customer data and support continuous improvement of global reporting tools and client related databases.
       
  • Lead remote, multicultural teams, interactions with Global Key Client on senior management level.
    • Successfully build and develop strong relationships with local country management teams to support them in managing local In-Life operational activities, including training, governance, TCO optimization and local legislation (e.g. fleet subsidies programs).
       

To succeed in this role, you have the following skills and experience:

You have the DNA to deliver complex global end-to-end solutions, and implementation of actions that support business needs. Collaboration, agility, project management and decision making are examples of key behaviours reflecting the agile culture of LeasePlan.

  • Minimum 7-10 years relevant working experience in a similar role, preferably within an international environment;
  • Academic and/or Bachelor degree (e.g. in Economics, Business Administration);
  • Ability to quickly build relationships, gain credibility and work successfully in accordance with the LeasePlan values;
  • Ability to have a helicopter view and make balanced and impartial judgements;
  • Excellent negotiation skills;
  • Ability to analyse stakeholder needs, identify gaps & risks, then build actionable solution to the business problem;
  • Leading role experienced in guiding a business critical, complex program for a key Global client;
  • Demonstrated track record in fleet, supply chain or logistics industry and management of fleet operations for a business critical fleet(s);
  • Strong track record in managing both internal and external stakeholders effectively;
  • A proven track record of creating effective reporting and data analysis;
  • Experience in leading remote, multicultural teams, interactions with client on senior level.

Department overview

For a highly business critical and complex global programme within the LeasePlan group, you will have overall responsibility for the programme In-life fleet operations. This includes managing the strategic partnership with the client with regard to programme operations, leading virtual operations teams across the countries, and process management across all markets deployed assuring maximum fleet performance and availability.

This programme delivers business critical fleet management services that support the strategic growth of last-mile delivery activities for a large, global e-commerce/ logistics company. You will be responsible for the programme operational performance in 10-15 markets, a fleet size that will further grow to 100K vehicles, and over 250 FTEs that are working fully dedicated on the programme.
