You are responsible for:

Our (Senior) Manager Securitisation vacancy in The Netherlands, Amsterdam contains a wide variety of tasks. As a (Senior) Manager Securitisation you will be responsible for the end to end delivery of transactions executed by the Structured Finance department. Our ideal candidate has the expierence to oversee all project work streams and has an eye for details. You are responsible for: 

  • Designing an optimal transaction structure for LeasePlan as originator, taking into account business processes and products of LeasePlan, regulations, rating agency criteria and investor demands and bringing them forward within the LeasePlan group
  • Influencing and driving decision making in new deals, managing both internal and external advisors and specialists and liaising with senior management of LeasePlan Corporation, as well as the relevant local LeasePlan entities
  • The engagement of and negotiation with all counterparties involved in the transaction e.g. investment banks, institutional investors, legal counsel, corporate services providers, swap counterparties, rating agencies and tax advisors
  • Taking ownership of reviewing legal documents and liaising with external drafting and review counsel together with LeasePlan’s internal Finance Legal team
  • Taking ownership of the treasury work stream, setting up an optimal derivatives structure within the transactions and incorporation of the transactions and all counterparty risk related issues within the treasury and risk organisation
  • Ensuring historical data and portfolio data requirements of investors and rating agencies are met while safeguarding that monthly reporting functionalities will enable reporting in line with the latest (ESMA) requirements, this includes periodical involvement in the monthly reporting process for existing transactions
  • Coordinating the rating agency process, being able to have detailed content discussions and negotiations with the rating agencies about historical data, legal structuring choices and the implications thereof on the achieved ratings
  • Owning and managing timelines, milestones and interdependencies while ensuring a smooth running process of all transaction components, cost control and efficient co-operation with all different team members
  • Coaching/training (junior) team members involved in the various work streams of a transaction
  • Active participation in the distribution of the transactions through public road shows and discussions and negotiations with investors in close cooperation with the Director Structured Finance and Securitisation
  • Contributing to other strategic projects relating to LeasePlan’s financing activities as they may come up from time to time


To succeed in this role, you have the following skills and experience:

The ideal candidate will have already worked in an international investment banking environment for at least seven years (senior manager), or four years (manager). The candidate has the DNA to deliver highly accurate work and has a problem solving mentality and an inquisitive mind.

We are looking for a candidate that has:

  • A university degree with at least seven years (senior manager), at least four years (manager) of experience in a banking & finance or asset management environment
  • Excellent planning, project management and analytical skills
  • The ability to complete tactical level tasks without detailed supervision and to provide solutions to e.g. complex structuring and cash flow management issues
  • Organisational sensitivity, the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with all levels of management and staff to achieve results
  • Self-confidence and a self-starting mentality with a drive to get to a successful closing of complex transactions
  • English proficiency (verbally and written)

Other skills that are seen as an advantage for the role:

  • Experience with managing and structuring securitisation transactions
  • Up to date knowledge of banking and securitisation regulation for both originators and investors (Securitisation Regulation/ESMA requirements/STS)
  • Up to date knowledge of rating agency criteria for ABS transactions
  • Experience with and knowledge of structuring techniques, derivatives, legal documentation and risk management within structured finance
  • Knowledge of the automotive/leasing sector
  • Data modelling and/or programming experience (PowerBI/Python)
  • Other language skills (e.g. Dutch/French/German)

The (Senior) Manager Securitisation vacancy is based in The Netherlands, Amsterdam. Flexibility in terms of hybrid working can be offered in consultation with your manager. This role requires occasional travel to our (European) LeasePlan entities.

Department overview

Within LeasePlan, the Strategic Finance Department is responsible for the design and implementation of the funding strategy. Within Strategic Finance, the Structured Finance and Securitisation team is responsible for asset backed funding. The team currently consists of five professionals. To date the team has successfully executed transactions in Australia, Belgium, Germany, France, the Netherlands and the UK. The infrastructure for new transactions in other jurisdictions is under review. Given the continuous expansion of the Bumper franchise, the team is looking for a strong candidate to support our growth ambitions.
