Customers with a Direct Lease
Finance and policy
This is normally possible. We’ll extend your contract, and you’ll carry on paying a monthly lease rental. Please contact your DriverLine team, and we’ll work on a new monthly amount we hope you’ll like.
If you go over the mileage you estimated, you'll be charged at the end of the contract. The good news is you can update this anytime, as long as you have at least six months left on the contract. To discuss your options, please contact customer services on 0345 250 0000.
If you have more than six months left on your contract, it may be possible to reduce your contracted mileage.

Monthly rental This is the amount in your monthly payment schedule. The first payment will be taken at the same time as your initial upfront payment.
Upfront payment An upfront payment, or initial rental, helps reduce the monthly costs of a lease. It varies between one and six months of the monthly rental. Your overall cost stays the same, but the way that's broken up is up to you, with either a larger upfront and a smaller monthly payment or a smaller upfront and a larger monthly payment. We take this payment at the same time as the first monthly payment. **
Backdated contract change cost ** If there’s a change to your contract which means the cost is now higher, sometimes we’ll take a payment to ‘catch up’ on your payments from the start of the contract.
Excess miles If you have driven more miles than you predicted, and have told us this to make sure you don’t get a charge at the end of your contract, we’ll add in a monthly charge to help you spread the cost **
Road fund licence (road tax) ** Your contract includes the price of road tax for your vehicle in year one of the contract, and any increases set by the government will be charged on your invoice.
Short-term vehicle hire If we have sorted a hire vehicle for you, normally if your vehicle is off the road, and this is not included in your contract, we’ll add this to your invoice.
It's important that you don't cancel your direct debit after your final monthly payment to us. If there’s any damage charges, or credits we need to send you, we won’t be able to do this if you have cancelled your direct debit.
Please wait until three months after your contract before cancelling. Don’t worry, we won’t keep taking your regular monthly payments. We’re looking to improve our invoice processes for the end of contract process, so you get a final confirmation from us sooner than this and we can cancel your direct debit sooner - please bear with us!
