Customer Due Dilligence
LeasePlan is required to collect and verify additional information on yourself/ your organisation to comply with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and European Banking Authority's identification and verification regulations for Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing. By law, we have to maintain updated and accurate records on all our customers.
We strongly advise that you provide us with the information we need as soon as possible and don’t miss the deadline as this information is required by law. If you’re experiencing any difficulties in doing this or have any questions, you can reach out to our dedicated Customer Due Diligence (CDD) team by calling 0344 850 0021 (9am-5pm Monday-Friday excluding bank holidays).
LeasePlan has selected Onfido as our digital verification tool for all our customers. This tool has been approved by the European Central Bank (ECB) as a secure and reliable system for verifying your identity. You can learn more about Onfido here.
Individuals leasing a car No, you won't have to do this annually. Once Onfido has confirmed your identity, that's all we need.
Limited companies No, once Onfido has confirmed your legal representative/legal owner’s identity, you won't have to do this annually. The only time this process will need to be re-done is if/when your organisation's legal representation/ownership changes, and we’ll reach out to you to let you know that this needs to be done again.
