Servicing module
The Servicing module is a device that allows the vehicles of the below listed makes and models to monitor selected information concerning their technical condition. The module reads (inductively) diagnostic codes flowing over the CAN bus (the CAN bus is most often used for the internal communication network of sensors and functional units in the car), routed to the instrument panel. It also registers data from the OBD2 diagnostic interface.
The module contains a list of selected warning notifications and warning icons that it records and checks. If a command to display a notification or icon is recorded, the module stores a record of the event, including the time and type of warning. If the vehicle control unit stops displaying a warning, this information is also recorded again.
Benefits and advantages
The Servicing module enables the extension of vehicle technical support
- extending the vehicle maintenance service by actively monitoring the vehicle's technical condition
- monitoring service intervals – prevention of missing the prescribed inspections and thus reducing the number of unacknowledged warranty and warranty repairs
- the possibility of active communication with vehicle users where we can help e.g. with the identification of dashboard notifications
- brake damage prevention - alerts the driver about worn brake pads, preventing damage to the brake discs
- battery – it provides information about insufficient battery capacity and insufficient charging - prevents premature replacement, as well as cases where the low capacity means that the battery will not start
- tires - prevention of driving on under-inflated tires => reduced consumption and increased safety; tire pressure signalling only applies to passenger cars
- reducing the number of assistance interventions (prevention of breakdowns)
- reducing the frequency of use of replacement vehicles
- increasing the quality of service due to correct and timely directing of the car to the most suitable service partner for the given service intervention
How do we process and provide data?
Records of activation and deactivation of warning icons will be continuously sent to the server via GSM signal. Here they will be subsequently processed in a special application and made available for viewing by an authorized person on the client side. This functionality is already available on the vehicles from production but it is now only available for manufacturer's purposes. With this extension, we will be able to use the information to improve the service to our clients.
