What is the minimum validity period of the technical inspection on the vehicle at the time of its return?
Minimum of 30 days from the day of return. During the sale process, the vehicle may need to be moved to a different location, or it may go for test rides.
How much fuel should I leave in the vehicle tank when handing over the vehicle?
The vehicle must have enough fuel to travel safely to the drop-off location and for subsequent vehicle manipulation (arranging the technical checks, test drives, etc.). We recommend handing over the vehicle with about half a tank.
Is it possible to hand over the vehicle on summer tires in winter?
No. If you order a vehicle pick up in winter, the vehicle must have winter tires. If the vehicle has summer tires, the pick-up will not be done and a fee will be charged in accordance with the valid price list.
Can the arranged pick-up be cancelled due to insured damage, for example?
Yes, the vehicle pick-up may be cancelled free of charge if announced at least two working days ahead of the agreed date. We recommend to cancel the ordered pick-up as soon as you find out about any change of plans.
I will be returning the vehicle at the drop-off location with the SGS inspector present but I cannot make it on time. Can I still leave the vehicle at the venue?
If you insist on returning the vehicle, it is possible. In such case a LeasePlan representative will accept the vehicle from you but without the SGS inspector, there will be no SGS report prepared on the spot. That way you will give up the possibility to claim the vehicle state in case of any potential dispute or claim after the vehicle evaluation.
Do I have to be present at the vehicle hand-over?
Yes, you should be present at the vehicle hand-over in your own interest. You will be signing a hand-over protocol confirming the state of the vehicle that you will have returned.
I want to avoid any end-of-the-contract charges for extra wear and tear. What can I do?
The best way how to avoid any end-of-the-contract charges for extra wear and tear on the vehicle is to report all damages on the vehicle and to have these damages repaired before returning the vehicle. Before you return the vehicle, it is also possible to make use of the pre-inspection and based on its result, you can decide whether you want to return the vehicle as it is or if you want to fix any damages.
