Along with founding partners LeasePlan, Unilever, IKEA Group, HP Inc., Metro AG, Deutsche Post DHL, PG&E, Baidu and Vattenfall, The Climate Group presented the worldwide e-mobility initiative EV100 during the UN General Assembly in New York. The initiative is committed to accelerating the transition to electric vehicles within companies and to ensuring the companies' own fleets are fully electric by 2030. LeasePlan, as the only founding member from the automotive industry, is going the extra mile by ensuring its own LeasePlan fleet will consist exclusively of electric cars by 2021. Tex Gunning, CEO of LeasePlan Corporation NV, sees this as an important step towards sustainable fleet management: "Electric vehicles are What's next. As a leading global fleet management provider, we are delighted to be working with some of the world's largest companies on speeding up and facilitating the switch to electric mobility. Over half of the cars on the road today belong to companies. Together we can have a significant impact!"
