Hyundai IONIQ 6

Electrified Streamliner

  • Checked IconElectric driving range of up to 610 km

To say the IONIQ 6 looks cool is an understatement. With its pronounced arch shape inspired by the Prophecy EV concept car, this all-electric Hyundai truly stands out from the crowd. Inside the sleek coupe-like silhouette, you’ll find Hyundai's most cutting-edge technology and safety innovations. Its energy efficiency, sustainable use of materials and highly streamlined style all add up to a design Hyundai calls 'Ethical Uniqueness.' Bottom line, the IONIQ 6 feels like the future.

Air resistance coefficient of 0.21

Air resistance coefficient of 0.21

Its aerodynamic body sculpture and cocoon-like interior earned it the nickname 'Electrified Streamliner.' Its elongated front and rear end benefit both aerodynamics and interior space. And, thanks in part to the low nose, active air vents and optional digital side mirrors, the drag coefficient is just 0.21.

The elliptical spoiler with winglet, the light 'boat-tail' structure and partitions on either side of the rear bumper also contribute to this aerodynamic peak performance. The same goes for the fully covered undercarriage with optimised deflectors and reduced openings around the wheel arches.

Although Hyundai hasn't released all the details about the powertrain, this newcomer is longer and lower than the IONIQ 5. Like its predecessor, it will also be available with two different-sized battery packs. The 53 kWh base battery is smaller than the IONIQ 5's less streamlined 58 kWh battery. The WLTP consumption is under 14 kWh/100 km, even lower than that of the über-efficient original electric Ioniq.

The larger battery has a capacity of 77.4 kWh and can be combined with one or two electric motors. The most powerful version produces 325 PS and 605 Nm and reaches 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds. When rear-wheel-drive only, the IONIQ 6, with its large battery, officially gets you about 610 kilometres.

FAST CHARGING

Charge like lightning

The IONIQ 6 also draws on the strengths of the IONIQ 5: its 800 volt architecture enables fast charging with 200 kW, so it can charge from 10 to 80% in less than 20 minutes.

SUSTAINABILITY

Durable materials

Depending on the trim level, the interior features ecologically processed leather or recycled PET fabrics for the seats, bio-TPO for the dashboard, a roof lining in bio-PET fabric and organic paint based on vegetable oils for the doors and carpets made from recycled fish net. The exterior also uses sustainable raw materials, such as paint with recycled pigments from used tyres for the upholstery panels and pigment from charred bamboo for the body paint.
