We aim to help create healthier environments in our towns and cities by promoting cleaner, low-emission vehicles and the infrastructure required to make these cars a viable option for our customers. Our commitment to achieving net zero emissions from the automotive sector by 2030 is not an optional add-on to our day-to-day activities: it is an important driver of our business, contributing to the developments of effective, rewarding and sustainable solutions, partnerships and markets.
Driving sustainability in our industry
As a responsible company, LeasePlan is committed to achieving net zero emissions from the automotive sector by 2030, supporting the effective implementation of the Paris Agreement and climate-related Sustainable Development Goals. Whatever action we take or new markets we enter over the coming years, we will therefore use our scale, expertise and broad geographic presence to be at the heart of the discussion on sustainability.
GreenPlan is a ‘green’ fleet management initiative by LeasePlan. It encourages clients around the world to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other global-warming gases. GreenPlan is a set of standards and goals which is available in all LeasePlan countries. In addition, LeasePlan offers FleetReporting globally. This reporting function gives fleet managers insight into CO2 emissions, fuel consumption and driver behaviour.
Promoting safe and efficient driving habits
We are harnessing the latest digital technologies to support our customers in driving more safely and efficiently. Our increasing use of telematics solutions is supporting fleet managers in improving the performance of their fleet in the areas of cost control, CO2 reduction, driver behaviour, and safety. It is also allowing us to provide better service levels to individual drivers. We have further expanded our telematics offering to serve customers across 20 countries, which we expect to increase in the future.
