We are using our scale, expertise and broad geographic presence to be at the heart of the discussion on sustainability. Our aim is to help create healthier environments in our towns and cities by promoting cleaner, low-emission vehicles and the infrastructure required to make these cars a viable option for customers. As well as being the right thing to do, this also makes good business sense. Our belief is that demand for low-emission vehicles will only go up as technology costs fall and regulatory action to cut emissions increases.
We are helping our customers manage the cost and their consumption of fuel. We also advise them on how best to transition towards a greener car policy in terms of vehicle choice, fuel selection and driver behaviour. GreenPlan provides periodic reports on CO2 emissions and energy labels per vehicle and by total fleet numbers. It also gives access to carbon offsetting programmes. GreenPlan is certified by TÜV Rheinland and supported by Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE).
LeasePlan implemented a new Code of Conduct and Supplier Code of Conduct in 2016. These explain how we must approach our business dealings. They are founded on sound business ethics and respect for stakeholders and society. Setting high standards gives clients, suppliers and business partners the confidence to work with LeasePlan. The codes guide all employees in their efforts to balance the interests of people, the planet and profit. When conducting business for LeasePlan, consultants, contractors, agents and joint venture partners are all expected to observe the same standards of conduct as LeasePlan employees.
